Going to Work "potluck style"

Well, the shoe dropped today at work. Yeah...I'm still employed, but it looks like I'll be bringing my own pens, pencils, paper, files, tape, staples, and other assorted supplies with me. I may even bring my own printer. Harumph.

I'm looking on the bright side. Potlucks are usually really fun and a great way to try new things. Maybe my co-workers will bring really cool pens, I'll bring really cool paper, and we can swap.

Oh...if you call me at work and it's long distance to call you back...sorry...no can do. You'll have to keep calling and calling me, just like in the "old days" before voice mail...heck, before answering machines.

OK...really. I'm grateful to have a job and I'm blessed. But, wow...some interesting things are going on.

Harrison on the cover of a Magazine?!

Those that follow the Cory Connection know that the littlest Cory, Harrison (aka Hair Dog) is just full of personality, antics, clever one-liners, and that I am confident he will one day be a fraternity social chair, although hopefully he will not be "that guy".

All that aside, I will always be the first in line for the "That Harrison is One Cute Kid" fan club...yes, I'm biased. Nonetheless, you are allowed to think your own child(ren) are as cute or more so than my little guy, but look what I did!

Yes, I uploaded 5 pics of Harrison for a Scrapbooks, Etc. "Your Kid on the Cover" contest. Not sure what happens next, but it prompted me to tell some friends, so consider yourself told.

If he makes the cut, there will be "voting"... I have my fingers crossed!

"craft it forward"

Once again, I'm inspired by my friend Angela Lenssen (her blog link is to the right). She is "paying it forward" in a creative, crafty way, and I've taken her challenge and will do the same.

The first three people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice (but there is a good chance it will involve paper-crafting). For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It’ll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it’s going to be.
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3 people who do the same on your blog. The first 3 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a homemade gift by me!

Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

Who’s in?

Craft it forward idea from Kiwi

Yeah...I should be studying...but who's keeping track?!

The things that just make your day...

...and make being a Mom the best experience on the planet.

Not only is this one as cute as they come, he is sweet too.

On Sunday, after returning from a 4 day trip, Harrison ran out to great me, curbside. His little body was so happy to see me he was jumping up and down, wiggling side to side. He looked like a little puppy when it is happy and about to whiz on the floor. I digress...

So, he came over to me and then I realized he was sort of laugh-crying.

I asked him, "are you crying?"

"Yes", he replied.

"Why are you crying?" I asked.

Harrison then said these amazing words to me, "these are tears of joy, Mom, tears of joy".

Seriously?! I lead a much more blessed life than I deserve.

Sigh...
