now missing my Mom

I have been strangely reluctant to add a new post to this blog...the photo of my Mom at the top of the list has been comforting somehow. The photo was taken the day she went Home, and she just looks so kind, warm, and even peaceful to me in this photo. For the last few weeks, when I open the blog, there is Mom, smiling at me. Sure, I have many other photos of my Mom, I even made a special album a few months ago with several favorite photos in it. I look in the mirror, down at my hands, listen to my own voice, and she is here...she is, and always will be a huge part of me. It's hard...missing her. Thanks to my friends for still knowing and remembering that I'm sad, and I'm not always myself. Thanks for allowing this blog to be cathartic for me...at least for awhile.

I'm sorry. Days like yours are hard. While time marches on and other new issues come up for people to be concerned about (i.e. a niece in the NICU), you are still without a Mom. It doesn't fade for you. I'll remember to lift you up, friend.

I know how you feel--certain posts elicit reactions like that for me. Sometimes I post something right after so people don't see what I just wrote (whether it's embarassing or something that might be too revealing), or it's something I want to remember and feel bad when it isn't greeting me when I sign in.

Don't feel like you have to be happy, or that you have to feel sad. All you need to do is be you. Well, that, and know that there are a lot of people out there who love you whether you are happy, sad, blue, orange, purple, laughing or crying.

In short: I loves ya lots, and think of you and your sweet family often.

Keep talking (writing) and we'll keep listening (reading). We love you!
